All Meetings start at 8:15am in the lunchroom on the first Thursday of the month.

Mission

Parent Club is the main auxiliary group of the school that performs and facilitates a combination of social, community-building and fundraising activities.

Fundraising Expectations

Each family is asked to either contribute $150 to parent club or to sell fundraising merchandise for a profit of $150. Additional funds are raised through special events such as Bingo Nights, Movie Nights, and the spring Trivia Night. Funds are used to pay for teacher gifts, extra classroom needs, and similar expenses.

How to Get Involved

Every parent in the school is automatically a member. See below for various events & activities throughout the year.  You will see that SCL couldn't be what it is without the amazing support of our volunteers!  Please contact the chairperson of any event you are interested in helping out with - your help is greatly appreciated!

Lunch/Recess Coordinator Helps coordinate the recess duty schedule to ensure adequate coverage. Diane Stachura Many, many, many volunteers needed on a daily basis to volunteer in the lunchroom and/or playground.  A once per month commitment is greatly appreciated for families with children in K-3rd especially. Ongoing
Room Parent Coordinator Make sure each grade level has room parents, informing the room parents of upcoming events and insure that teacher birthdays are celebrated and classes are covered for “special” teacher luncheons. This position is ongoing throughout the year.   Donna Souter Room parents needed for each classroom.  Also, if you cannot be a room parent, there are always opportunities to assist in the classroom parties, so be sure to volunteer! Market Day Monthly coordinating of sale. Collect orders, place order with Market Day and coordinate workers and run the monthly sales. Market Day is usually the third Wednesday of every month, September through June. Margaret Berek & Patty Cleary Assist with the 3rd Wednesday of the month order picking Ongoing
Office Support Coordinating workers for monthly packet stuffing, picture day, and vision and hearing screening. This position is ongoing throughout the year. Kathy Berg Several volunteers needed once a month (usually about an hour) to help stuff the monthly packets. Also, a few volunteers needed on picture day. Ongoing
Family Support Network Coordinate volunteers to help out a family during times of need. Colleen Nugent Cook a meal for a family when a need arises.  Contact Colleen and you will be put on a list and will be called upon when a need arises. Ongoing
Box Tops for Education & other similar fundraisers Coordinate and send in box tops, run fun promotions for the program, etc.  Also, encourages families to sign up for eScrip, Target Visa and any other promotions that are worthwhile.  Donna Souter Always look out for additional fundraising opportunities and contact Donna with your great ideas! Blizzard Day  Coordinate the monthly blizzard day fundraiser. Celeste Fox A few volunteers needed to distribute the blizzards to students during lunchtime. Monthly
Back to School Night Host an evening for all families prior to the start of the school year. This event is usually the week before school starts. This position is for this one event only.  Trary Ubarri Need people to help with the uniform resale, distribution of information packets to new families, greet new families in preschool August 25th, 2011
Uniform Resale This usually takes place the week before school and also at Back to School night. This position is ongoing through out the year.  Trary Ubarri Assist with the running of the uniform resale event August 25th & 29th, 2011
Innisbrook Gift Wrap fundraiser This chairperson would coordinate the Innisbrook gift wrap sale. Catalogs will be distributed at the beginning of the school year, orders need to be collected and  rocessed. The orders will be delivered to school in November. This position is for this one time only event and it takes place at the beginning of the school year. Falguni Shah   September 2011
Secret Santa Workshop Purchase items throughout the year for the workshop.  Coordinate classroom shopping, wrapping and distribution of purchased gifts.  Georgia Mermigis & Ginger Shevlin Several volunteers needed over 2-3 days to assist students with their shopping, help with wrapping and distributing gifts. Book Fair This chairperson would set up the book fair, schedule workers, arrange times for classes to attend the book fair, and submit an accounting sheet at the end of the book fair. This is a one time event and is often held in November during Parent Teacher Conferences. Julie Jenkins & Bridget Eschenbach Several volunteers will be needed to work the book fair in November to help the students pick out their selections, write them down (for the little ones), etc. November 16-23rd, 2011
Family Bingo Night This chairperson will coordinate and organize setting up for bingo night, schedule workers, purchase/acquire prizes for the evening, and coordinate food purchase. Amy Zimmermann and Mary Pearson  Volunteers needed to check bingo cards, help with prize table, and help serve food for the evening. December 2, 2011
Catholic School Sunday Coordinate setup, food and workers for the reception during the Catholic Schools Sunday event. This is usually held in January during Catholic Schools Sunday week.   Alex Powell & Joanna Azara A few volunteers needed to setup the food for the reception during Catholic Schools Sunday January 29, 2011
Coffee House Sunday Helps run a coffee house during a weekend mass.  Pizza & pop on Saturday night mass, coffee & donuts during Sunday masses Eileen Samuels A few volunteers needed for each mass to help distribute food. TBD
Bingo Night Coordinator Helps parish concession stand the month of July. Also organizes the school Family Bingo Night at SCL. Shari Stadler & Amy Zimmerman A few volunteers needed for generally running of the bingo night. TBD
