Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts of the USA is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls—where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. With the support of St. Catherine Laboure and parents, several Girl Scout troops are thriving at SCL.

There are currently troops at the Junior, Brownie, and Daisy levels. Troops normally meet once per month at the school plus have outside activities that the girls are encouraged to attend. Meeting activities and outings usually revolve around learning and trying new things in a fun and safe environment.

Some of the girls’ favorite events have been: a visit to a pet store to learn about caring for pets, a cooking class, and a sock hop with other neighboring Girl Scout troops. Troops also focus on service projects that are age appropriate. Recent service projects have included Christmas Caroling, making valentines for the elderly, and visiting a food pantry. The older troops have attended Girl Scout camp, where they participated in arts & crafts, hiking, and campfire songs. If interested in obtaining more information, contact Margaret Berek.
