Colleen Koulentes
Graduating from University of Illinois with a degree in Elementary Education, Mrs. Koulentes joined the SCL faculty in 2008 as a preschool teacher. She has also taught 3rd grade and is currently teaching 1st grade.
"As a teacher, I believe that a classroom should be student centered. Each child should be actively involved and engaged through a variety of activities and lessons. I hold every student to high expectations and treat each child as an individual. My goal is to create a fun and engaging environment where every child is given the opportunity to succeed."

Mrs. Koulentes also spearheaded the addition of the track and cross country sports to SCL and is the head coach for both. She has also coached track and cross country at a local high school because of her extensive running background and expertise. In the 2009-10 school year, she started the inaugural "running club" which was offered to kindergarten through 4th graders. It was a huge success with an amazing amount of participation.
