Ms. Goczkowski joined St. Catherine Laboure in the 2009-10 school year and made an immediate impact in her classroom and the school.  She currently teaches the second grade and especially loves this grade because she can share the special moments with the children such as their First Reconciliation and Holy Communion.

Graduating from Elmhurst College with a degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Reading, she also has a goal to get her endorsement in ESL.

"I believe that my main goal as a teacher is to create a classroom where students feel welcome and see the classroom as a warm and safe environment. As a teacher, I want to make school memorable for the students and let them have special opportunities while learning.  I absolutely love teaching at Saint Catherine Laboure! This is a place where everyone makes you feel like home."

If you visit Ms. Goczkowski's classroom library, you can tell that she loves collecting children's books.  She shares ...  "I suppose it's my love of reading that gets the best of me! There is no way that a student will be able to pass up a book in my classroom library."

Mrs. Goczkowski also enjoys traveling and seeing interesting places and things. She loves learning to cook new foods from different cultures - two of her favorites are flautas and kolachky!

One of her favorite websites to go to is proteacher.net - a website where they have built a community of teachers. If you are ever looking for a great creative idea or stumped on something to do, this is the place to go. She is very collaborative and loves communicating with all of the other teachers on the website.

Please don't ever hesitate to send an email to agoczkowski@sclschool.com if you have questions.
