Mrs. Galeno, St. Catherine's assistant principal, has been at SCL for 30 years!

Graduating from St. Joseph College in 1979, Mrs. Galeno received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education.

"I have always enjoyed the creative side of the educational experience. I love to see students confidence bloom as they do a performance, whether it be a solo or speaking at a liturgy.. I participated myself in shows in high school and college so I know the benefit of learning to believe in yourself."

Those that know Mrs. Galeno, even if you just met her for the first time, will witness her zest for life, and it is contagious.  When she isn't at a Cubs game, playing the piano at a liturgy, or preparing the children for the annual Christmas program, you may find her kayaking, hiking, ice skating, cooking, playing softball, or attending a book club discussion.

Her own children attended SCL and they are now grown with their own professions. Her oldest son teaches English at Notre Dame High School. Her younger son is an Aquarist and dives for various company's and museums. He also works for a company called World of Reptiles and does shows all over Chicago.
