SCL Computer Lab

At St. Catherine Laboure, we integrate technology and human resources to provide our students with a meaningful and authentic learning experience. Students learn everything from the basics to building their own web pages.

Technology Resources:

• The computer lab adjacent to the library is used by the Kindergarteners through 8th grade. This lab consists of 15 up-to-date PCs running XP and Microsoft Office 2003 applications, and software that augments core subjects.

• A mobile computer lab that includes a wireless network and fleet of 25 laptops purchased in July 2008. Grades 4th through 8th use these laptops regularly for a variety of classroom projects. With 9 additional laptops added this year, no one will ever need to share.

• Each teacher has their own laptop (purchased in 2007) and projectors so it's easier to create lessons at home and quickly set them up in their classroom.

• Starting Fall 2008, SCL will pilot the use of interactive whiteboards in a few classrooms and wireless slate technology to enable unique learning experiences.

• Wireless Internet access implemented throughout entire building in summer 2008.
