"I have three children at SCL. Seven years ago, when my husband and I were deciding where to send our daughter for Kindergarten (the public school is across the street from our driveway), we visited SCL. From the moment I walked into the school, I had a feeling that it was the place for our family. The atmosphere was so welcoming. As we walked down the hall, children looked at us, smiled and some said hello. When we visited the classrooms, we like what we saw. We made our decision that day to send our daughter there for Kindergarten thinking that if it didn't work out we could always switch to the public school the next year. Well, that was seven years ago and we have never thought of leaving. Not only have we been happy with our children's education, but the community at SCL has been like a family for us. The support that I see people receive is amazing!! SCL is helping us to instill that values in our children that we want them to have for a lifetime!! So, as I pull out my driveway each morning to drive them to SCL and see the public school literally across the street, I know in my heart that I am making that drive for all the right reasons!!"

"SCL is a great school. We are a small "family" orientated community where all the students are cared about no matter what their age or grade. SCL has a lot to offer and everyone works hard to make the school as wonderful as it is. The principal is outstanding as well as the rest of the staff."

"St. Catherine is a wonderful environment where the children feel special, get an excellent academic education and at the same time grow into good/caring people. We enjoy volunteering our time at the school events because all the families are so friendly. We have been sending our children there for 8 years now and have countless examples of the teachers, children or principal doing something special. They even have a talent show in the spring where any willing kids from K thru 8th grade can get up on the stage to sing, dance, juggle, play an instrument or show off any talent. Each performer is treated like a star. What a great opportunity for the kids to shine. "We came to Saint Catherine's out of necessity when we were caring for our critically ill infant daughter. Saint Catherine's offered a very flexible preschool schedule for our 4 year old, which was necessary as I spent a lot of time at the hospital. More importantly, SCL offered support to our entire family during this difficult period in our lives. Though that difficult time has passed, we chose to remain at Saint Catherine's because we feel that the school has nurtured our children and our family in a unique and valuable way. We have been most impressed with the family-like atmosphere on campus, (older students helping younger students in formal programs as well as every day), easy access to faculty and staff, (I always talk to someone who can address my questions or concerns), as well as the commitment to excellence that Ms. Konicek and the school board have maintained."

"I attended first through eighth grades at SCL in the 1970's and early 1980's. It was definitely my foundation at SCL that has helped me to become a successful business woman and have the balance to be a good mother and wife. Since I live on the East side of Glenview , when it came time for me to send my own children to school, I sent my then kindergartener to . It only took a few weeks to realize that he was a small fish in a big pond. When I approached Laurie Konicek and observed Mrs. Cusak's kindergarten class, I couldn't believe the difference! SCL has such a family spirit and really wants to see each student excel. My children love SCL, and that small fish is now a 5th grader, on the high honor roll, soccer team, basketball team and loves to read and draw. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend SCL to parents who want their children to have a strong educational foundation in a positive, family friendly environment."

"'Excellent', best describes St. Catherine Laboure School. My daughter is in kindergarten and there are only 12 kids in the class. The teachers are, caring & professional. The principal is very dedicated and is on top of things .Parents are very well informed and even get e-mail updates. SCL strong academics, extracurricular activities, extended care for working parents, and the involvement of both parents and teachers in each child's education make this school worth every penny! I will definitely keep my daughter here till 8th grade."

"I'm extremely impressed with the academics and the sense of community. Students are generally working on concepts above their grade level and doing very well. Our daughter has been their two years and we have been so very happy with it. The teachers and staff genuinely care for every kid.

"So far we just have 2 preschoolers at SCL. We could not be more pleased with the school. Since it is a smaller school, they are able to get *every* child involved in some way so that they feel like they have a special talent. The warmth of the teachers is overwhelming. They could definitely be making more money at the public schools, but they are at SCL since the parent involvement is exceptional, and the overall community feeling is great. I've looked at the test scores, and they are almost all above 80% - many over 90%. Highly recommend!"

"St. Catherine is a great school! Where else in the north shore could you find the diversity that exists at scl? The smallness of the school is a huge advantage to the students not only academically, but socially. Everyone knows everyone, especially 1st thru 8th. As a parent it is easy to get involved and get to know other parents. All one needs to do is show up to a parent club meeting, booster club meeting, school board meeting, or any school event and they will be welcomed with open arms."
